5 Things We Learned at Our Tincture Class

There’s something magical about a room full of people, jars of herbs, and the scent of high-proof alcohol in the air. Last weekend’s tincture-making workshop was full of learning, laughter, and plant connection. Here’s what we took away from the experience.

But first — are you excited to get involved?

But back to our 5 things we learnt at our recent Tincture Making Class

1. Simplicity Wins

You don’t need fancy equipment. Just a clean jar, herbs, and a menstruum (usually alcohol) can begin a potent herbal remedy.

2. Everyone’s Got a Plant Story

From childhood memories of chamomile tea to wild rosemary foraging, attendees shared touching and funny stories about the herbs that shaped them.

3. Ratios Matter

We explored the difference between folk and weight-based tincturing methods—demonstrating how consistency and potency can vary.

4. Patience is a Practice

Tinctures take time. Watching the herbs steep becomes part of the ritual—a reminder that healing isn’t instant.

5. Community Makes It Better

Learning in circle reminded us that herbalism is a shared practice. Each voice adds to the knowledge, and every person leaves with a little more confidence.
