herbal throat spray

Junior Herbalist Club @ Park View, Lytham

This Saturday (12th March) our Second Year Junior Herbalists will be learning all about Sage (Salvia officinalis), and will be using sage leaves to make an antiseptic sore-throat spray to take home.

Sage has one of the longest histories of use of any culinary or medicinal herb. Sage is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-allergic and antiseptic. Tea made from sage leaves can be used to treat sore throats and coughs, infected gums, dental abscesses and mouth ulcers, indigestion, hot flushes and anxiety.

Drinking sage tea also improves mental concentration, attention-span and quickens the senses!

Second Year children to meet at 10.00am in the Eco Pod.
