Junior Herbalist Club @ Park View, Lytham
This Saturday (22nd October) our First Year Junior Herbalists will be learning all about the lovely aromatic Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), and making a ‘Sun Tea’ and a calming herbal bath to take home and enjoy!
This popular garden plant lifts the spirits, calms the mind, and improves memory and concentration. It also eases tummy aches and headaches, and can be taken to help alleviate fevers, colds and flu.
Used medicinally for over 2000 years, it was believed that taken every morning Lemon balm would “renew youth, strengthen the brain and relieve languishing nature”. It was hailed by Paracelsus as “the elixir of life” and described as “sovereign for the brain, strengthening the memory, and powerfully chasing away melancholy”.
First Year children to meet at 10.00am in the Eco Pod. Please bring a clean empty glass jam jar with lid to take your Sun Tea home in.
